It's a miracle!

You Passed 8th Grade Math
Congratulations, you got 10/10 correct!
Could You Pass 8th Grade Math?

(via Scripting News, and I did better than Dave Winer! (Well, except for that whole skipping 8th grade thing.))

Confession: Ok, first, I used a calculator on some questions and, secondly, I guessed wildly on that mode/median/standard deviation question. But that's not exactly cheating, really.

Say it.

I wish I knew which one I supposedly got wrong, because I think I know which one it was, and I thought the problem was ambiguous, it depended on how you applied parentheses. All these years of programming have taught me a set of precedence rules that may not apply to 8th grade algebra. And if it had appeared on regular test, I have a feeling they would have laid out the formula so there was no question how to interpret it. In any case, I'll take the 9 out of 10. ;->

PS: I guessed on the mode vs median question too. ;->

Wow...Denise...you da chick! You need to print out the comments and frame 'em! ;-)

Dave, I hope this doesn't mean you missed out on the joys of "My Dear Aunt Sally", the mnemonic device for the precedence rule "Multiply Divide Add Subtract" (which for some reason doesn't include "do the stuff in parenthesis first" rule.)?

Eric, should I go with the gilt frame or the low-key chrome frame OR this new-wave double glass pane deal that actually has no frame? ;-)
